I struggled with drugs for 20 years. After the last time I was released from prison I went to Foundations who offered me some groups. I wasn’t up for it at all at first but having people who’d been there and done that really helped me. At one point I remember saying to someone it was like the fog cleared.
It wasn’t easy and I had some ups and downs but really when I look back I just went from strength to strength. Came off my methadone, started doing voluntary work and became a peer mentor in the service.
Things couldn’t have gone better I began applying for jobs and now have a full time permanent job!
