Recovery Games Appeal

For three years RDaSH and ADS (Aspire) have hosted this annual regional event which provides real visible evidence that recovery is possible. Teams from all over the Yorkshire and Humber region attend for a day of celebration and fun.

Aspire Drug and Alcohol Service originally organised the games as a platform to change attitudes, challenge stigma and celebrate the value of recovery from drug and/or alcohol addiction, along with fun activities for families, children and friends. But year on year the event has grown into a wider community celebration, and in 2016 over 600 people visited Hatfield Marina to take part in the event, which rounded off with a ‘colour run’ style powder paint celebration ..

The Games provide a fantastic opportunity for family, friends and children across generations to come together to celebrate recovery, have fun and make new friends.

The event is based around a series of challenges and trials in which the teams compete throughout the day culminating with a final obstacle course race to decide the winning team.

In previous years we have funded the event without support but with austerity continuing to bite we are appealing for donations and support to enable us to deliver the fourth annual Recovery Games.
