Introducing Kirsty Frearson: The Newest Member of Team Generis

Kirsty brings a wealth of experience and a passion for supporting others, making her an excellent addition to our service.

Kirsty recently joined us from Kidney Research UK, where she specialised in grant management for the nationally recognised charity based in Peterborough. Her background is rooted in psychology - she holds a doctorate focusing on educational psychology and preventative mental health interventions for primary school children.

Kirsty has taught psychology at both the University of Hull and University of Manchester.
Originally from near Milton Keynes, Kirsty moved to Hull for her academic career and now calls the city home. She was inspired to join Generis by a personal interest in mental health, psychology, and substance misuse.

Kirsty says: “I’ve always been interested in why people misuse substances and the factors that contribute to those circumstances. I’m passionate about breaking down stigma and encouraging open conversations that make it easier for people to get support. My role at Generis will focus on training others - empowering professionals to have those crucial conversations at every level.”

Kirsty is currently completing her induction and looks forward to delivering training in the near future. Welcome to the team, Kirsty! We’re excited for what’s ahead.
