Generis is pleased to welcome Andrew Eve to our team as a Trainer/Assessor. Andrew has worked in mental health and substance misuse roles across the UK for over seven years, with hands-on experience supporting people through recovery at Aspire in Doncaster.
Originally from Latvia, Andrew moved to the UK as a teenager and quickly became passionate about psychology and human behaviour. Now also a university student, Andrew is studying a combined degree in psychology and counselling while applying his knowledge directly in the field.
Andrew’s career began with frontline roles in Turning Point, where he developed a love for practical work in substance misuse. He progressed from key worker and recovery worker to psychosocial lead, delivering innovative group interventions and dialectical behaviour therapy. He also gained experience working in criminal justice settings and facilitating motivational interviewing - helping people identify their own strengths and strategies for change.
At Generis, Andrew’s role encompasses everything from delivering substance misuse awareness training to facilitating workshops, including to frontline staff across Doncaster and Rotherham. His passion lies in understanding the roots of substance misuse, challenging stigma, and empowering people to change through conversation and new skills.
Andrew says: “If you understand the apparatus of substance misuse, you can uncover powerful insights into human behaviour. My goal is to help professionals to unlock their own abilities to support change, and to make support more accessible for everyone.”
Generis is excited for Andrew’s fresh perspective, specialist skills and dedication to supporting others. Welcome to the team, Andrew!
