Senior Substance Misuse Worker

East Riding Partnership

Full time (maternity cover – 12 months)

The role is part of the community substance misuse team covering the east side of the East Riding in a variety of settings.  The successful candidate will undertake assessments and develop a package of care for service users.  You will be required to develop, support and challenge the knowledge and practice of others in the team.

The successful candidate will have a relevant degree e.g social work, psychology or L3 Diploma in health & social care and a L3 drug & alcohol qualification or equivalent and a ILM L3 in Leadership and Management are essential.

ADS support professional development and offer the ASYE programme and a variety of accredited qualifications.

Job Description:

We currently have an exciting opportunity to be part of a new team based in Doncaster to support service users leaving the criminal justice system.

The post holder will be attached to an outreach team covering the Doncaster area to support individuals in the criminal justice system to engage with treatment services to improve health outcomes and reduce criminality.  The successful candidate will provide harm reduction advice and support on a 121 basis. You will be required to liaise with other professionals involved with the service user’s care.

The successful candidate will have a relevant degree e.g. Social Work, psychology or L3 in drug & alcohol or equivalent. Experience and knowledge of the criminal justice system is desirable.

The role is based within the group work team and offers support to service users to gain an understanding and insight into their own recovery through evidenced based one to one and group work sessions.

The successful candidate will have GCSE English and Maths or equivalent, a Level 3 in drug and alcohol or equivalent, and relevant experience within substance misuse. Knowledge and understanding of electronic operating systems e.g. systm one are desirable
