Top 10 UK Housebuilder Supports the Recovery Games
For the second consecutive year, Keepmoat 'a top 10 UK housebuilder' sponsored the Recovery Games, an uplifting event that celebrates individuals overcoming substance misuse and embarking on new life journeys.
The construction firm's support began when a colleague learned that Aspire’s Recovery Centre in Doncaster, delivered by a partnership between Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Trust and The Alcohol and Drug Service, had experienced a break-in. Keepmoat stepped in to assist with repairs, showcasing their commitment to local organisations making a meaningful impact.
Inspiring Stories of Transformation
Keen to be involved as a sponsor, Mark Burley, Social Value and Partnerships Manager at Keepmoat, attended last year's Recovery Games, where he heard inspiring stories of transformation. "Addiction can affect anyone, regardless of background," Mark observes. "The Recovery Games highlight the rewards for those able to face these challenges. It embodies the spirit of hope and togetherness - values that resonate deeply with our mission to build stronger communities."
Ryan Morris Keepmoat’s IT Service Delivery Manager volunteered on the day and said: “What a fantastic opportunity for people to get involved and support such a fantastic event. I am so proud that Keepmoat were able to sponsor this day.”
This year, Paul Senior, former Director of Keepmoat for 28 years, discovered the Recovery Games for the first time. He said: "The Recovery Games is the best event I've ever been to!"
Throughout the day, Paul watched people throw themselves into the activities, witnessing families laughing together and enjoying the freedom of recovery. He was profoundly moved by the experience, stating, "People in recovery have travelled a difficult path, and what the Recovery Games accomplishes is uniting people to enjoy themselves and celebrate their new lives as a community."
The event left a significant impact on Paul, who now feels compelled to share its importance. "It was incredibly emotional. I was fortunate to speak with people willing to share their journeys. I want to shout from the rooftops about how vital this event is, and I eagerly anticipate next year."
Tim Young, Chief Executive of The Alcohol and Drug Service, expressed gratitude for Keepmoat's support: “We’re thrilled to have backing from Keepmoat, who have a commitment to local communities and understand their importance in supporting recovery.
“I’m so pleased Ryan, Paul and Mark got to experience the power of the event, even after all these years, it remains a spine-tingling experience for me.”
